Is the evaluation made by Dr. Hervey Cleckey available somewhere?
But who do you think is lying here? Is it Braudis? If Ted was lying when they got that report of him why would he even say that, since he very much wanted everyone to believe he and his family was normal and decent. Same applies to his family members, no?
So this is really bugging me where did they get that information (if Braudis is not lying).

I don’t think that report exists. I have read all of the Utah psychological reports and Bundy never claimed any such thing. If anything, Bundy was overly protective of his mother and very careful to paint her in a positive light. I think Braudis made it up.
Yeah of course that makes sense and that’s what I think about him too, but then I thought that information wouldn’t have come from him, perhaps an acquaintance or a close relative… But yeah anyway, that’s still weird that a cop would make up something like that, that’s so unprofessional. But I guess things were different back in those days.
No I finally found it, I did have a hunch I read it here in your works. It’s from the archive named “The first escape, 1977”.
Towards the end there’s an interview with sheriff Bob Braudis from 2019 Feb 15, where he says: “So I went through the Bundy files. And one thing stood out in my consciousness. The shrinks in Utah wrote up a report that said Ted Bundy was caught masturbating by his mother, and punished by her when he was 11 or 12.”
Yeah, I’m not so sure that was true.
By that you mean Brauis’ statement being untrue?

I’m very new on this page, so I may be just uninformed, but I’m looking for that very psychological evaluation, that one of the officers/guards mentioned once about finding a file in there about a young Ted’s mom punishing him when she caught him masturbating?
I was expecting that and other related issues about his upbringing to be discussed in this one.
Is there perhaps another diagnostical file that includes that? Thanks in advance.
I have never seen any such report, and I doubt that it exists. I believe that is yet another Bundy myth.
